TRICONEX 3501E

System Overview

Physically, a Trident system consists of field-replaceable modules, the baseplates

upon which modules are mounted, field wiring connections, and a TriStation 1131

programmer’s workstation. This section briefly describes these major elements and

provides general specifications.

Field-Replaceable Modules

Modules are field-replaceable units consisting of an electronic assembly in a

protective metal housing.

Field-replaceable modules include:

• Main Processor Module (MP)

• Communication Module (CM)

• Analog Input Module (AI)

• Analog Output Module (AO)

• Digital Input Module (DI)

• Digital Output Module (DO)

• Pulse Input Module (PI)

• Solid-State Relay Output Module (SRO)

• I⁄O Extender Modules (EM)

Each module is fully enclosed to ensure that no components or circuits are

exposed—even when a module is removed from the baseplate. Offset baseplate

connectors make it impossible to plug a module in upside down, and keys on each

module prevent the insertion of modules into incorrect slots.

GE IC200MDL241G Plc Module

Product Description

IC200MDL241 is a VersaMax AC Input Module with 16 points.
This specific discrete input module has positive logic or sourcing type inputs. This means they will receive current from AC input devices and then return the current on the common. To accomplish this, input devices are connected between the input and common terminals. The IC200MDL241 provides 16 bits of discrete input data. Power for this module is derived from the backplane with the intelligent processing performed from the CPU or NIU. Each module comes standard with LED indicators for on/off state for each point on input and the OK indicator for backplane power being present.

When installing the IC200MDL241 module, make sure to carefully inspect all aspects of the module. If damage is found make note and request a replacement part. Placing a damaged unit into a CPU can cause problems and could create further problems for the user. Wiring photos and instructions are readily available online. Users should note that if hot insertion is done improperly that the working of other modules on the same backplane could be disrupted. Installers should also know that no derating is needed for the 16 point modules if voltages up to 240 VAC are used, but above 240 VAC, the number of points on at the same time is dependent on the ambient temperature and external voltage.

For isolation, the user input to logic and frame ground is at 250 VAC continuous or 1500 VAC for one minute. Input voltage for this module is 0 to 264 VAC and 240 VAC nominal. This includes on response time on 1 cycle maximum and off response time of two cycles maximum. Installers should note that this module carries an explosion hazard, and no components should be substituted.
